The Director of Graduate Recruitment will be responsible for the development and implementation of both domestic and country-specific international recruitment strategies and planning intended to (i) attract and yield a highly diverse body of excellent students and (ii) meet the university’s enrollment, quality, and financial goals. The director will collaborate with key university stakeholders in all facets of the plan and monitor data and trends to achieve the goals set forth by the University’s leadership. The director will work closely with the leadership of all schools and colleges of the university, under the direction of the Executive Vice Provost for International Initiatives and Chief Global Affairs Officer.

-Develop and implement a strategic graduate student enrollment plan (domestic and international) by collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders from across the university, including academic leadership, faculty, management, and staff.
-Monitor and analyze enrollment and application trends to refine and improve strategy and tactics; utilize data and performance indicators to make improvements; and execute new outreach strategies to maximize Binghamton’s presence in the domestic and international market.
-Coordinate the management of domestic and international recruitment including market development, communications, admission, and enrollment, with support from central offices as needed.
-Expand the university’s international partnerships and agreements, in collaboration with the leadership of academic units and with the support of the Office of International Education and Global Affairs.
-Identify opportunities to engage reputable independent counselors/agents and manage agent relationships.
-Build, train, mentor, and supervise the recruitment team comprised of full-time professional staff.
-Strategize and carry out an effective international and domestic travel plan, deploying staff as appropriate and personally participating in international and domestic travel as needed or assigned.
-Monitor the overall recruitment budget.
-Master’s degree is required.
-Five plus years of progressively responsible experience in successful planning, creative problem solving, and effective administration in a domestic and international environment.
-Experience in developing marketing or recruitment campaigns with an emphasis on the utilization of multiple tools to reach target market(s).
-Experience advising, counseling, and otherwise working with prospective and/or current students.
-Ability to lead, supervise, motivate, and initiate change is required.
-Demonstrated cultural competency.
-Must have understanding of immigration policies that affect international students and scholars.
-Experience managing a budget.
-Experience with international and domestic travel as it relates to the successful recruitment of students.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including social media and university systems.
-Must possess strong oral/written communication skills and technical expertise in business management tools including spreadsheets, word processing, presentation tools, databases, and social media; proficient at editing/updating web-based information.
-Able and willing to work non-standard / varied working hours.
-Candidate must be able to travel extensively in an independent manner, both overseas and to other states, and must possess the required documentation to do so.
-Proficient in the use of a CRM
